I struggle with understanding fingerspelling well and picking it up on the first go, I definitely needed to play it back and at slower speed multiple times to catch the word. Including as new vocabulary words are introduced. I’m realizing how useful facial expressions are, as when I missed parts of Brian’s signing, I could tell the sentiment of perhaps what he was communicating, for example when he noted someone was interested in his application after he explain his experience more. I caught that that was a pivotal point, though I certainly relied on the captions to get the full detail.
